What amazes me the most about these new “Demi-Professionals” is the boldness and public ego they carry. Then again, I am stuck in an age where 10,000 or more followers automatically denotes a “Model” title to any female, “Rappers” are popping up out of the ground faster than a team of National “Whack-A-Mole” champions could keep up with… and these fools are creating pop-up “businesses” (Facebook Businesses, at that) and calling themselves CEOs of what is basically nothing more than a “cool idea” . But the BLATANT falsification of their status is what annoys me. I get it… I get it… Fake it till you make it, play into the façade, yadda yadda, blah blah… I understand that concept very well. However, with the pace that the professional industry moves now, in terms of relevance and windows of opportunity, a week is a year, and most of you are spending month’s sill running in place, saying the same thing over, and over, and over, and over.

Facade - an outward appearance that is maintained to conceal a less pleasant or creditable reality.
"her flawless public facade masked private despair"

Seriously though, I’m not here to blast, snap, or belittle anyone. At the end of the day, I want to see people advancing in the things they are “actually” good at… but honestly, a very large portion of you are fucking horrible and I truly believe many of you know it… So maybe through the course of reading my blogs you will either develop some form of self-awareness of you, and your market… and use the information I provide to be different, because being yourself obviously isn’t working. You’ve drowned in the hype.

Know who you are. Easy right? One would assume so, but thanks to Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Pinterest, etc… etc... You’re juggling about 6 different personalities (and I can promise, we honestly have no fucking clue what you are doing, and about 90% of the time, we have no real faith of you ever meeting your goals… sympathy likes, and maybe a moto comment may pour out of me once in a while, but I promise, I’m not a fan, and likely paid about 10% attention to your product, with 9% of it being WTF is this? Lmao... Being all over the NET pushing your worth isn’t at all bad though if you know your business… However, if you REALLY knew THE BUSINESS, you would have an understanding of a few concept(s) called “branding” ”strategy” “value” “messaging” “story” “identity” “platforms” and “target audience”. These things are all planned out, well understood, and outlined BEFORE one fan is introduced to you, or your product/service. Now, if you are an Artist/Musician, Model …basically within the entertainment industry, you are likely doing this to gain notoriety, security, and an established base of fans/supporters. To gain these things takes a STRONG understanding of the aforementioned concepts. Actually to step it back, you also need to have a STRONG understanding of your talent/product/industry. Many “demi-professionals” move in tunnel vision, which I attribute to them moving within limited and local networks, they honestly have no genuine idea just how large the talent pool actually is.

Branding. Branding is the symmetrical or asymmetrical way you will be presented to your specific/defined audience. When you create your brand, you want to incorporate the message that it represents, the *idea* and *story* that it will tell. The platforms in which you present yourself on may be different, however the *story* *message* and *idea* should remain consistent, it’s through these you will garner the type of audience (over-time) that will potentially build your foundation. Everything is important if it is directly attached to, or represented by your brand. Your Facebook Profile, Your Content, Your Images, Your Website, Your interactions, Your Involvements.. Down to the little simple things like the colors you choose, the way you write and present yourself, the assumed connections you have… the timing and consistency of the little “successes” you reach… and the list goes on, and on. Many Demi-Professionals are moving and acting preemptively without any real consideration of the impact or purpose… While they themselves are running with a façade, they are easily fooled by the running facades of others so it becomes a hamster wheel pattern of “over-facading” (new word) the competition, not over thinking, which is basically, doing the shit the right way. Then again, the right way is REAL WORK, and that’s that shit they don’t like.

Anyway, this was kind of an off the hip rant, but as I went along, I realized I enjoyed the last half (educating). So I may make a series “From Start to Finish” on Development to Branding to Messaging/Audience to Strategy to Implementation. Yeah… I just may do that 

Put back on your mask for now... Training will commence soon.
